We are discussing the totally refurbished ParkShop at Landal Miggelenberg bungalow park near Hoenderloo. With the new formula, Landal GreenParks brings the ParkShops closer to the Landal values: Discover what Green can Do. Architect Jan Kroon designed the building, while Van Keulen Interieurbouw provided the interior design. Oosterhuis managed the project, together with his right hand woman, retail manager Marloes Immerman.

Landal values

‘When you talk about Landal values, you’re referring to sustainability, for example. And how all our visitors are really addressed as individuals. But also about the use of trendy materials and a contemporary formula, where the boundaries between food, retail and catering become blurred. And of course, the most important aspect: fun. Because that’s why people come to us.’

The new formula was designed by architect Jan Kroon and can compete with the most modern ‘standard’ city supermarkets. ParkShop Miggelenberg is the pilot store. The shop has been given its own unique look, a positive image which totally reflects the holiday atmosphere in the park. Customers can serve themselves all kinds of different products. The shop offers ‘coffee-to-go’ and there are freshly prepared ready meals which visitors can eat in their bungalow. There’s also a wide assortment of fresh products every day which encourages visitors to get cooking themselves too. If the formula proves successful, it will be introduced in the other Landal parks in Europe.

‘The shop was gutted back to the foundations and then rebuilt. I can describe Van Keulen Interieurbouw in one word: amazing. They were fantastic in the way they contributed ideas. They not only deliver excellent work, they obviously really enjoy what they do as well. Even when it comes to very trendy things. And fun – we know all about that at Landal. Then when I see Joop van Keulen himself walking around taking photos of the new shop … it’s not surprising that we’ve been working with Van Keulen Interieurbouw for so many years.’
