Last year, Van Keulen Interieurbouw delivered the completely renovated shop interior of MKC Moto in Hazerswoude in four days just before Christmas. No less than 1600 square metres of sales area for motorbike clothing and accessories, spread over two floors again guarantees years of optimal customer experience.

‘That is exactly why we like and work well with Van Keulen,’ says retail director Lewis Rigaux. ‘Their flexibility, speed of action and thinking along with us about practical logistics solutions make the Van Keulen team a perfect partner for us. In Austria, we work with another interior builder for our shops because of the distance, but in the Benelux we now blindly choose Van Keulen. In Hazerswoude we didn’t even ask for another quotation. We don’t have to worry about the quality and we have also experienced that our calculations are always reasonable. And then it’s just about efficiency.’
'Sustainable quality is perhaps also the hallmark of the relationship we have with each other as companies.'
L. Rigaux, Retail Director
Trust is the basis on which MKC Moto and Van Keulen work together
After Brussels, Lille, Bruges, Rotterdam, Uithoorn and Assen, among others, the shop in Hazerswoude also had to match the robust shop concept of steel and raw wood. Motorcycling is a way of life and this lifestyle had to be highlighted in the Hazerswoude shop as a matter of course. Customers should feel completely at home and the same goes for employees. Based on good experiences in the past and because of the required speed, it was decided not to engage an architect for this project. Rigaux: ‘There is a scenario, we think together about routing and logistics so that all product categories get the attention they deserve, Van Keulen comes to take measurements itself and then the parts are produced in the factory and assembled in the shop in record time. Yes, then sometimes little things don’t go quite according to plan or wish, but that is solved directly in the work. That’s only possible if you trust each other through and through.’
Sustainable quality
Apart from mutual trust, Van Keulen and MKC Moto share an absolute sense of quality. ‘Our customers find quality more important than price and Van Keulen does not compromise on quality either. Which, by the way, does not mean that everything necessarily has to be new. For example, we reused a large container wall from another shop in Hazerswoude. That is obviously the most sustainable solution and if it has no negative consequences for the appearance, we opt for it. Sustainable quality is perhaps also the hallmark of the relationship we have with each other as companies. That relationship is based on a long-term collaboration. A cooperation circle that neither of us wants to put pressure on. Finally, don’t forget to mention that Van Keulen is remarkably good at modular construction. The result mostly looks custom-made and seems made for the occasion, but the vast majority of the shop interior is modular in construction and can therefore be reused.’
